5G is a great way to get blazing fast speeds that rival even a good wifi connection—but it can also be kind of expensive if you don’t know how to tame it. If you’re on a Samsung phone, disable ‘intelligent wifi’ connections and keep an eye out for these two modes: ‘Switch to better Wi-Fi networks’ and ‘switch to mobile data’.
But why do we need to disable these settings? Because the phone will default to mobile data if your wifi speed is lesser than your mobile data—and what’s worse, if you check your mobile data speed, you will exhaust your daily limit in seconds because the website downloads and uploads as much data as possible just to test your connection.
