What happens to abandoned vehicles on the roads and footpaths?

Recently, the state government announced that they are setting up a scrapyard in Yelahanka to dismantle old and abandoned vehicles. While we are not sure when that proposal will reach the execution stage, here is what happens to seized and abandoned vehicles that you see around police stations in the neighbourhood.

The Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC) has urged the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to set up dump yards for unclaimed vehicles. This can also generate revenues for the BBMP.
