If you want to be the change you want to see in the world, join the ‘Residents Watch’ Telegram group. It’s a group of government officials, politicians, civic activists and the Bangalore media. Just remember not to spam the group with unrelated and unverified forwards. Stick to HSR issues and you will do just fine. SMS (98805-85748) or mail us your name, number and who you are (residentswatchmag@gmail.com), and we will be happy to add you.
Residents Watch has been around for five years and counting. The monthly magazine is given free and only subsidised by advertisements. Our readers are our best salespersons. They recommend us to others or advertise with us themselves when they see the magazine on cash counters at various commercial establishments or on online platforms. Word of mouth publicity is how we have thrived for so long.
That’s the beauty of Residents Watch. There are diehard readers and diehard advertisers. Heartwarmingly, most of them happen to be selling well-known brands. Which means that people who have a long term goal are the ones advertising with us on a consistent basis. And they are the ones you should trust because they are here for the long haul. Fly-by-night operators stay away from advertising with us. In this segment, most of them happen to be beauty salons, tutorials, restaurants and apparel stores. We have seen these stores shut shop within three months after their inauguration.
So the next time, you patronise an establishment in HSR, pay us back in kind by telling them to advertise with us. The stores get the publicity they deserve and you get to make a citizen-centric magazine survive on advertising alone.
Looking forward to your patronage, as always.
Stay healthy. Stay happy.
