Most businesspersons in HSR Layout have blamed demonetisation and GST for their losses in the last one year. Some say their turnover came down drastically for the first few months after demonetisation. The others contend that their profitability has suffered, and forecast that it may take another year or two for things to stabilise.
Prompted by several thefts in their vicinity, 18 residents of 21st B Main in Sector 1 pooled in to setup a CCTV surveillance system. And already, it is showing some results.
A bunch of HSR residents headed by Bharathi S, a resident of Sector 7, are doing their bit to usher in peace in their neighbourhoods. No, they are not propagating any particular religion, cult or regime. They are just telling everyone to chant ‘HU’ (pronounced ‘Hue’) whenever they feel stressed, unwell or just want some peace of mind.
Two months ago, the residents of HSR Layout were pleased when MLA Satish Reddy announced 100 CCTVs for HSR Layout. Months later, his party spokesperson clarified that 100 was for the entire Bommanahalli constituency and 20 were sanctioned for HSR Layout – 10 installed and 10 more to be done shortly.
