Cult.Fit congests residential road with staff cars

ACs, rooftop chimney faces the houses, dirty water floods footpath

By ZAHID H JAVALI

The multi-storied Cult.Fit building at the intersection of 15th B Main Road and 18th Cross in Sector 3 is inconveniencing residents of HSR Layout. Their rooftop chimney is facing the residential houses when it should face the sky. Scores of split ACs are spitting out hot air towards pedestrians walking on the road when they should have been located on the terrace.
Bescom engineer Yathish promised action.

Their staff members are parking their cars all across the 15th B Main Road, leaving no room for visitors to the Swabhimaana Tree Park or the residents along the road. This is a classic case of an outsider usurping the space meant for residents in the area. What’s worse is that the building has enough basement space to park 20 cars. But the landlords have shuttered it for reasons best known to them. Therefore, the residents want them to fix the issue and resolve this problem.

“The only response we need is action,” said one resident on condition of anonymity. “Enough is enough. As it is, the building is illegal, because it is touching a residential road behind it. The joke is that they are sticking posters to not park in front of houses when they are doing it themselves.”

Thankfully, Cult.Fit responded to queries from Residents Watch and agreed to resolve the issue. “Our employees ensure that no cars are parked in front of houses or in any way that may inconvenience our neighbours,” wrote the company spokesperson without naming themselves. “However, to ensure that we do our best towards the community we live in, we have taken up a land parcel nearby which can easily accommodate our staff’s vehicles and we would be using the same for parking purposes. We have also cascaded this information to our employees. Regarding the chimney, we will have this looked into immediately.”

We will keep our readers posted if Cult.Fit will keep their promise. For now, it’s a positive development and we thank them for their proactive response.
