From 2021, you can directly complain to the Karnataka chief minister on his Twitter handle or email ID (cm.kar@nic.in) for speedier redressal of your complaints. Earlier, there were three email IDs to reach the CM. The new move is to remove any confusion and duplication, thereby streamlining the process. However, citizens find the very idea of alerting the CM’s office to be impractical. In the past, we have emailed the CM on issues where we have got an acknowledgement, but no redressal. When this can happen to a media entity, what about the lay person?
BBMP Sahaya 3.0?
When BBMP Sahaya has failed to work even in its second avatar, the residents are wary of this new year move. Their reservations are based on experiences in the past where none of the grievance redressal systems have worked. This email ID isn’t new either. We have been publicising this ID for the last eight years in Residents Watch, and have not come across a single case where an email to the CM (irrespective of the party in power) has worked. This is just another political stunt that is doomed from the start. However, if the suggestions from the citizens are taken, much can change.
