When will better reason prevail over the general public, officials and our netas? When the entire HSR goes down under? Buck up, guys!

When it rains rhinos, HSR Layout goes under water. When houses in low-lying areas were flooded, people were put under house arrest by the rain gods, and boats were used to ferry them. The basements of many commercial buildings were flooded, prompting Bescom to make it mandatory for all house owners to shift the transformers to the ground floor and on an elevated platform.
The culprits are many. The building owners for letting sewage into storm water drains and encroaching storm water drains to make way for parking lots. The BBMP, BWSSB and local politicians are equally to be blamed for turning a blind eye. The residents and commercial vendors aren’t holy either. Many proactive residents have caught such people red-handed for dumping wet and plastic waste into the drains that led to blockages and flooding.
It’s time everyone involved pull up their socks. If stiffer penalties are introduced and more rigorous implementation happens on ground, such irregularities can be contained. But the situation is such that even when violations are brought to the notice of the BBMP officials, the storm water drains are yet to be desilted, the encroachment of eateries is yet to be removed. The BWSSB is letting sewage into storm water drains and is yet to properly find a solution to the overflowing Somasundrapalya Lake water inundating Sector 2 and 3.
The people who violate the law should be dubbed anti-national. They are the suicide bombers who are digging everyone’s grave in addition to their own.
