Don’t wait for your RWA to do something. Get up and fix the problem yourself
By ZAHID H JAVALI
Before the elections, works on roads and drains picked up momentum. But now, all those works are going for a toss.
The work is slow, the roads are getting dug up, and the civic agencies are messing up the entire civic infrastructure across HSR. It’s almost as if they were waiting for the elections to get over to indulge in exactly this. To add to the confusion, the BBMP assistant engineers have changed yet again. After Venkatesh was sacked by the CM after people complained against him, Muralidhar was brought in as an incharge engineer. But since his job didn’t really give him any say on what he should do, he was practically useless.
And then, Ananth Raju came in and things were settling down. But now, there is no Ananth Raju and Muralidhar is back as engineering incharge. However, there is one Veerabhadraiah as assistant engineer. By the time, he settles down in his new job, much damage will be done. It’s time the civic activists and resident welfare associations (RWAs) meet and apprise him of the problems in each of their sectors.
Once he realises that he has to do his job and in double quick time, he will settle down in his job faster. If you have any storm water drain or road issues, you can call Veerabhadraiah at 98459-87467. If things don’t get resolved by him, even though it’s his job, let us know.
Similarly, if you have any garbage issue, you can call supervisor Anil at 90086-92345.
If it’s to do with restaurants letting their waste into drains or smoking near schools and religious places, call health inspector Vinod at 98446-29911.
Together, we can. Don’t just wait for the RWAs or civic activists to take up your cause. You can, too.
