On August 20 at 8.45am, 24-year-old Chinta Ravindra, a resident of Singasandra, rented a bike and took the Harlur Road from the side of Sobha apartments and proceeded towards Sarjapur Road. He was a Denzo delivery boy on the job.
However, another unknown vehicle driven allegedly by a rash driver rammed into the right side of Ravindra’s bike. The accident left the victim with blood injuries on his face, left shoulder and head. The mishap occurred in front of SM Group’s compound.
Around the same time, Ganesh, the driver of a Sakra Hospital ambulance van spotted the victim and rushed him to the hospital. However, the emergency treatment wasn’t fruitful and Ravindra breathed his last the same day at 10.42am.
The HSR Layout cops have registered a case against the unknown driver based on a complaint by Ravindra’s uncle Bhaskar GN. The accused faces a hit and run case against him for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. If convicted, the driver could be in prison for ten years and also pay a hefty fine.
